The recently reported allegation of assault against Jonathan Majors has left everyone in a daze. It didn’t help when filmmakers that have worked with the actor described him as a “sociopath” mere hours after news emerged that the MCU star was arrested (but also subsequently released) by the police after a complaint was filed against him. At this point, Tinseltown has many high-profile cases of celebrities who have or are facing assault allegations. But what the internet can’t decide is whether Majors deserves to be treated like Johnny Depp or seen as another Ezra Miller.
The world is pretty aware of both actors’ respective pasts. In Depp’s case, his Amber Heard claimed to be a domestic abuse victim while the actor alleged that it was the Aquaman actress who hit him on multiple occasions during the course of their marriage. As for Miller, their career seemed to be on the brink of extinction after a string of controversies — ranging from disturbing behavior on set, assault allegations, getting arrested for disorderly conduct, etc., — but after they apologized and swore they were seeking help for “complex mental health issues,” the chatter somewhat died down.
